Nora Lawler Proffitt Crosby

Nora Lawler Proffitt Crosby, 88, of Amarillo passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, June, 14, 2018 at Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Dr. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Nora was born December 30, 1929 to Charlie and Chloe Lawler in Shamrock. She attended Shamrock High School. She married Harvey Odell Proffitt on July 4, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1986. Nora then married David Crosby in 1988. The couple moved to Canada and lived there for several years. Nora moved back to Amarillo after David passed away in 2006. She worked as a membership director at Amarillo Senior Citizenís Association. Nora enjoyed cooking, baking and crochet. She adored her dog, Joshua. She will be greatly missed. Nora was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; her second husband; a daughter, Teena Proffitt; two sisters, Bertha Lawler and Eula Lawler; five brothers, Homer Lawler, Pete Lawler, Jake Lawler, Bennie Lawler, and Johnnie Lawler. Survivors include her children, Sylvia Montano and husband Louis of Amarillo, Harvey Proffitt and wife Ruth of Shamrock, and Cindy Moss and husband Lyndon of Amarillo; five granddaughters, Melody Othieno and husband Bobby, Mindy Montano, Jennifer Patton, Amanda Walker, and Gabella Sandlin; nine great grandchildren, Cordell, Taylor, Shayla, Zane, Blaine, Andrew, Kimberly, Eduardo, Jr., and Isabella; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
